“Accidents, or unplanned subconscious impulses, often create my works, rather than me!

Once in a fit of anger and disgust, I threw the rag with which I was working on, on a new canvas that was kept against a wall. Next day, when I looked at the canvas, I saw an impression, that suddenly made me ‘see’ a type-writer. And then only, I began to work on it.

And sometimes, if I am painting something, accidental lines may appear, and make me change the entire work to something I didn’t think of, but something that simply happened!

Enamel paint has many possibilities that oil or acrylic colors cannot offer. Enamel can be used with various kinds of oils, water and charcoal; and even washed, to create a certain effect that I suddenly seem to want, out of a sudden subconscious impulse.

Hence, I have learnt not to plan anything, and simply rely on spontaneous imagination, and all my discoveries of textures and effects, are like all the true discoveries of science, that rely completely on accidents!”
